This soundscape was created by placing sensitive contact microphones onto exposed areas of the trunk of an oak tree.
What you’re hearing is not just wind or leaves - but subtle creaks, vibrations, and movements within the tree itself. Some of these sounds resemble the slow shifting of wood fibres, while others hint at the quiet movement of sap deep within the trunk.
These intimate, organic textures have been gently layered with natural Green Noise recorded in the surrounding forest - carefully shaped into a slow, breathing rhythm. The result is a deeply immersive experience that can feel as though you’re plugged into the living nervous system of the forest itself.
