Description

Picture the perfect rainy night tucked away in a beautiful wooden loft filled with lush greenery. Outside, a powerful storm is passing through, and the heavy rain drums rhythmically against the large glass windows and skylights. Each flash of lightning briefly illuminates the rain-soaked world outside, making the peace inside feel even deeper.

This space is a true sanctuary for nature lovers, with plants everywhere creating a serene indoor garden. The large sofa is covered in soft textures where a cat is peacefully curled up. On the fluffy rug nearby, a German Shepherd is fast asleep, completely undisturbed by the rumble of thunder. A gentle candle flickers on the coffee table next to an open book and a warm drink, inviting you to stay for a while. On the screen, the vibrant colors of the northern lights add a magical touch to the warm glow of the string lights.

Whether you are settling in to focus or searching for a natural way to find a deep sleep, let the sound of the rain and the cozy atmosphere soothe your mind.

Enjoy the stillness of this stormy mountain retreat.

A few words about how this video was created:

AI is everywhere today and is flooding the internet with content. The real problem is not creators who use AI as a tool, but the enormous amount of automatically generated, lifeless videos without any form of editing or refinement.
That is exactly why I want to openly show how my videos are created and be transparent about the use of AI.

The process starts with an AI-generated image (from common image AIs such as Leonardo, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, etc.). However, this image is only the starting point. It is then extensively edited manually in GIMP and/or Photoshop: errors are retouched, lighting moods are adjusted, details are changed or added. After that, I split the image into multiple layers to deliberately create depth and movement later on.

The animation is then created in DaVinci Resolve. Here, I combine different elements such as real video footage, 3D renderings, and occasional small AI animations (animals). This step is very time-consuming, and a single project often ends up consisting of up to 35 layers.

A particularly large part of the work goes into the sound design. Especially in thunderstorm scenes, a single audio track can consist of up to 50 individual sound clips. Many of these recordings were captured by myself using various devices (including the Tascam DR-40, Zoom H2n, and Blue Yeti microphone). In addition, a small number of royalty-free CO0 sounds are used. All sound sources are carefully layered, edited, and balanced. Individual sound clips are processed in Audacity and partly with the help of FL Studio, where timing, dynamics, and tonal balance are manually adjusted. The final soundscape is then assembled and mixed in DaVinci Resolve, resulting in a unique, living atmosphere that develops organically and could (hopefully) never be replicated by a purely automated AI workflow.

Once the image, animation, and sound form a cohesive whole, small details are added, such as my “Cozy Timez” logo at the beginning, and the scene is then rendered. By this point, up to 13 hours of work can go into a single video.

This video is the result of a hybrid, handcrafted process:
AI serves as a creative tool, but the atmosphere, depth, and mood are created through many conscious, manual decisions.

I hope this explanation was able to give you a small insight into my work, and I wish you a cozy and relaxing time with this video.
